Come join friends and family at Wintergreen Adaptive Sports for its annual Mardi Gras event on Saturday, March 3, when we celebrate another wonderful season on the snow and recognizeour students and our volunteers.
The day begins as we strut our stuff down the mountain in the traditional costume parade, followed by noon lunch served at the Hut.
Student awards will be announced at lunch.
The afternoon is filled with tubing races and the popular synchronized ski contest.
Finally, at the end of the day, staff and volunteers will gather under the tent in the parking lot near the Hut for a Cajun Supper and forthe announcement of volunteer awards.
Mardi Gras at WAS is held every year in honor of the program’s first student, Vince Fiore. He was an avid skier, and the fact that he had only one leg did not dampen his enthusiasm for sport or speed or athletic endeavor. His spirit of joyful determination is what we celebrate every year in our students and our volunteers.
Join us for a day of fun on the slopes! Your $100 minimum donation will get you a lift ticket, lunch, and entry into our Mardi Gras parade and our famous Synchro Ski Races. For students, the lesson fee is $100 and includes a lift ticket, equipment, a lesson, and lunch. You supply the costume. We’ll supply the fun!
